Making furniture is a collaborative process and I like to involve my client

Commissions typically start with an initial consultation in your home or office. I'll show you my portfolio, concentrating on projects which seem relevant to you. At this time I'll take measurements, discuss what it is you actually want your furniture to do, and spend time getting a sense of what it is you really want to achieve from the commission.

Once we have agreed a brief I usually produce designs on paper for discussion and at this stage we will decide on such essentials as materials, timing and budget.

When we are both happy I will confirm these details in writing, produce final construction drawings to scale and schedule the project into the workshop.

At this point I take a deposit of 25 per cent to cover the cost of materials and any further work necessary before we begin construction of your furniture. On larger projects, payments can be phased on an agreed schedule.

I encourage my clients to arrange a visit to the workshop to review progress.  When we are nearly finished making your furniture we will agree timing and logistics for delivery and installation.
